World Cup: Winners Kits vs Best Kits

World Cup: Winners Kits vs Best Kits

International football has brought us some amazing kits over the years, but there are some that stand out more than others. Football fashion is growing, and wouldn’t it be interesting if teams could win based on kit design… well, that’s exactly what I've done here (just with my own opinions, of course). Check out the winning kits from the past 5 World Cups, and who would have won simply based on kit design.

2022: Argentina vs Germany

Don’t get me wrong, Argentina’s home kit that year was sharp, but Germany’s away kit was something special and an all-time fan favourite.

2018: France vs Brazil

France’s winning kit was a standard kit in my eyes. Now a lot of people would say Nigeria’s home kit should be the winner here, but for me, it was a bit too full-on, so I have to say Brazil’s away kit.

2014: Germany vs Italy

Germany's home kit was nice, but shock horror, they’ve got me by the pinstripes here. Italy’s home and away kit combo in 2014 was unreal. Love the collar on the home kit, a proper classic design, and the away kit – wow.

2010: Spain vs Spain

Spain still rightful winners here, but not for the home kit. The away shirt was class; the dark navy with orange and yellow details works so well, a very put-together kit.

2006: Italy vs Japan

I don’t think Italy’s home kit was anything special, but it was hard to choose just 1 winning shirt. It was between Argentina's away kit and this Japan home kit. To be honest, they were both pretty similar, but the Japan shirt just steals the win with the cool graphic details.

Remember, these are just my humble opinions! Hopefully you can agree with at least a few. And, hopefully this has given you some inspo as to which kits to grab for the 2026 World Cup.
